PPT was a key coalition member in the fight to stave off severe cuts to the transit system in Allegheny County in 2011 and helped win the passage of Act 89 which extended funding to the system until 2022.
Hundreds of riders, drivers, and transit advocates mobilized to make this possible, and since then PPT has been working in recognition of the fact that transit is a human right and a critical lifeline and that transit justice intersects with many other movements and efforts to create a more just and equitable society.
